National AIDS Control Programme (NACP) :

The NACP was implemented in different phases-

First phase of NACP was implemented through State AIDS Cell under the directorate of Health Services during the period upto June,99

Second Phase of the NACP was implemented through West Bengal State AIDS Prevention and Control Society during the period from 01.07.99 to 31.03.07  

Currently WBSAPCS is operating under the NACP , Phase III The phase III commenced from 01.04.07 and it was officially launched on 06.07.07 . The NACP-III would be implemented as a 100% centrally sponsored scheme during the 11th Five year plan with assistance from Global Fund for HIV/AIDS , TB/Malaria etc. In NACP-III emphasis has been given on having a sound management structure with appropriate skills and competencies. NACO has requested to fill up all the vacancies particularly related to Finance, Procurement and Key positions to fulfil one of the conditions of the loan obtained from the World Bank for supporting NACP-III
